Jonesy's Toy Ride Set For Saturday

Riders raise over $45,000 For Cancer Victims This Year

For all those locals who say the noise of the motorbikes around town is, at times, too loud during the year, two bike rides during the summer of 2020 have raised over $45,000 for the Lewis County Cancer Victims Fund.

Board member Sandra Thompson said, "It was an amazing boost to our funds, especially when a lot of the riders don't even live here, they just come in for the ride and meet up with old friends."

This coming weekend is another ride of the 2020 year with riders again coming in to Hohenwald, but for a different cause, the Jonesy's Toy Ride.

For the past 11 years, Rick Jones has organized the ride, starting in Perry County before he moved to Lewis County, to raise money and collect toys for the needy children of the community, again, a very worthwhile fundraiser that all of the organizers should be proud of.

Jonesy's Toy Ride 2nd annual "Making Christmas Dreams Happen" is slated to take place December 5, 2020, starting at 10 a.m. with kickstands up at 11 a.m. sharp in front of Hohenwald Billiards.

The ride route will include 4P's, The Other Bar, Back Street, The Rusty Duck, and last stop Elks Lodge before returning back to Hohenwald Billiards.

The day will also include a 50/50 Poker Run, a Chili Cook-Off with cash prizes for the top three, and an auction at 5 p.m.

Entertainment will be provided by DJ by High Forest Records.

You can be a big part of this ride even if you are not on a bike. Bring a toy, bring many toys. bring a check, bring cash, whatever you bring it will be going to a well deserved cause and Rick Jones and the gang will be delighted, as they deliver the toys and money to local organizations in the coming weeks.

Donation and toy dropoff locations are Scott's Scooter Shop, Underground Graphix, Elks Lodge or Hohenwald Billiards. An account has also been set up at Citizens Bank.

All monies will stay in Lewis County helping needy children.
