The Christmas parade was held on Tuesday night since it rained last Thursday. It was nice with lots of participants and spectators there. Lewis County Girl Scouts had three entries and enjoyed riding in the trucks. It was longer than usual or at least it seemed that way.

I know, like me, there are some who cannot believe that this year will soon be over and we will begin a new year. As many others, I pray for a better year for all health wise and that it will be a good year for our nation.

Children are really getting anxious for Christmas, as this will be their last week of school till the New Year has begun. Many have made their list and some of them are very extensive sometimes. I think we teach children to be so worldly. They think that gifts are part of the Christmas celebration. Christmas should be about giving more than receiving and sharing love to each other and not dislike or cause problems for each other. If we know someone in need, we should help them at all times to make their lives better.

Lewis County Girl Scouts are selling cookies. If you want Girl Scout cookies, contact a Girl Scout or some leader to get your order in. You can contact me if you cannot reach a girl or leader. If there is a specific troop you want to order from, let me know and I will inform you whom you may contact.

Prayers for you to have a very happy week and that you may enjoy good health. This is the greatest thing on earth that we can enjoy. Our freedoms rank close to it. Remember those less fortunate and if you cannot visit, then call or send a card. This always makes them feel better and lets them know people are thinking about them. Someday you may be the one in need of others showing kindness to you when you are shut-in.
