Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Santa Claus came to town!

Santa and his entourage made their way through town in the beds of their red and blue pickup truck sleighs, spreading lots of smiles and holiday spirit on Saturday.

The 'Santa Claus Comes to You' event, put on by the Lewis County Elks Lodge, was a major success, said Brandy Rippeto Bennett, Activities Chairman for the Lodge.

"Due to the pandemic we didn't want the children of our community to miss Santa so we decided to bring him to them," Bennett said.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and his elves walked around and waved in the windows of AHC Lewis County as residents smiled and happily waved back.

Their other stops included High Forest Apartments, Lewis County Memorial Park, the Gazebo, Hohenwald Housing Authority, the parking lot in front of Fast Pace and even residential streets like Maple Street and Buffalo Road.

Along the way they encountered many young boys and girls whose day was made by being able to visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves.

If you see them out and about, make sure to give a special thanks to James Skelton for being Santa, Lisa Tibbs for being Mrs. Claus, and Brandy Bennett, Jeff Kinion, Ken Humphreys, Tammy Morey, Lori McKinney, Pineapple Barber, Travis McKissack, Danny Ogg, D'Ann Walmsley, Kim Buchanan, James and Kelly Peery, and Pam Cotham for being elves.

"Long term we [The Elks Lodge] hope to serve our community in every way possible moving forward as we see needs to be fulfilled," said Bennett.
