Elks Lodge delivers Christmas gifts

The Lewis County Elks received a $1000 Grant from The Tennessee Elks Association (TEA). The local lodge chose to use the Community Outreach Grant as an excellent opportunity to support our community's elderly.

The Lodge reached out to Debbie Spurgeon of D & L Home Health, Sheila Mullins of Health Angels Home Health and Nancetta Webb at our local Lewis County Senior Citizen Center and were able to purchase items and prepare approximately 40 gift baskets.

Lori Phelps McKinney, Tammy Phelps Morey, D'Ann and Kirby Walmsley were able to personally deliver these gifts on behalf of the Lewis County Elks Lodge #2883 as part of this community project.

In order to utilize the grant completely, all remaining funds after making the purchases were donated to the City of Hohenwald Water and Gas Department and MLEC to anonymously aid those accounts in greatest need with families struggling or pending disconnects this past week in Lewis County.
