Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

We are now in the year 2021 and the weather has been seasonal with cool to cold nights and days that sometimes reached into the low seventies. It has been a windy time and even when the temperatures were in the sixties or upper fifties, it seemed colder because the wind was so cold.
Hopefully, you had a great beginning to the new year and I, for one, am looking forward to the coming days and months and praying that it will be much better than the majority of 2020 was.
Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: David and Joyce Barnes, G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Barbara Brown, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Betty Carroll, Cathy Carroll, Dorothy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Billy Cothran, Marian Dryden, Rusty Dupont, Larry Evans, Helen Hardin, Christy Hinson, Beverly Holloway, Mickey James, Monette King, Wendy McKnight, Gage Peters, Rita Stutts Norris, Lisa Rawdon, Mona Runions, Nell Skelton, Janie Spears, Freddie Sublett, Jim and Jan Walker, Jim Webb, Annette Williams, Doug Williams, and Margie Willis. There are still cases of the virus around. We pray this will soon be over and we can get back to a more normal life.
Happy birthday to Fada Clay and Jack Dickey January 9, Kala Eastep January 11, Norma Beard January 14, and Amy Carroll January 15. Wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.
We express sympathy to the families of Willie Ann Anderson, Dylan Brugmann, Suzanne Elaine Thompson, Carl Edward Lomax, and Cornelia Margaret Chandler. Prayers for these families and any other families who have lost loved ones.
During this time of unrest in our nation let us remember especially those who are in service to our country in places where they place their lives in danger to protect us no matter where they serve, be it military, police, firemen or other public service such as nurses and doctors. This has really been a trying time for those who are close to the profession that deals directly with the health field.
January started off with rain and had rained the first three days, but Monday was dry and the sun was pretty. So maybe the rain will not last for fifteen days. Prayers for a good week and month for you and your family and that you will be blessed as you go through life.
God is an awesome God and blesses all of us greatly in this land. As you go through the days and weeks, remember those who are less fortunate and can’t be out. Call or send cards if you cannot visit them. Praying you are blessed with health and happiness. These are two of the greatest blessings we have in this world.
