Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
It is a cold winter’s morning, and a few snow flurries are falling, but this warm fire and good hot coffee sure does make it feel real peaceful. Hard to believe we are in the second month of this new year of 2021. And what will this new year bring? Only God knows.
Well, we will have to just take it one day at a time. We can’t do anything about tomorrow and we can’t go back and change yesterday. So I plan on enjoying today and trusting in God.
Our neighbor’s boys just came and stacked firewood on the back porch. They are really not boys, but are young men. When they were smaller if I needed prayer, I would call for them to pray. Their family always gathered together and prayed, and they still do. I thank God there is still young people who pray.
The boys were raised on the farm and can do anything, bale hay, garden, raise cattle, goats and chickens and they bring me eggs. Of course, they do have some big trucks and can burn some rubber every once in a while, but I won’t tell on them, ha.
Once they even let me climb up in their truck and crank it up. They are good guys and will do anything to help people in need.
Now back to the warm fire, good hot coffee and snow. I sure like mornings like this and I will enjoy today, and the peach in our little valley. I can hear the Old John Deere tractor coming down the neighbor’s driveway and their old farm truck behind it. They are hauling hay to feed the cows. A farmer’s work is never done.
God still has it all under control, and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
