Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 42

Just ended a week of ice and snow and it hung around for a long time. Some of it is still around even after the rain we had last night. It is on the buildings and on the ground, but a lot of it has left and maybe it will be the last one for the season. Many children and others, like some young at heart adults, enjoyed a week of sledding and building snowmen and just enjoying being outside in some of God’s beautiful scenery. Hopefully it was not too hard for you to get around and that you were not confined for too long. It is good to me to be able to look out and not see white everywhere this morning. Snow is beautiful but I think this one outlasted its welcome.

Wishing you and your family a very good week and hope you have happiness and health to go with it. Many of us never really think about what a blessing it is to be healthy until something happens in our life. To me health is one of the greatest blessings we can have.

Let us remember to help those around us when we can. There are many people who cannot do things for themselves and sometimes we don’t really think about how simple things can lift someone’s spirit. It doesn’t take long to make a phone call or drop someone a card to wish them well or just to say that you are thinking about them. If we were shut-in or sick and could not be out, we might think of it more often. I am blessed to have grandchildren and children that are willing to help me with many tasks. My grandson, Jesse, and some others came over on Saturday and cleared a path to my garage for me so I could go to church on Sunday. He brought some of my great-grandchildren with him and they played in the snow and some built a snowman while he was working. He brought them on the ATV which is 4-wheel drive and they all enjoy getting out and riding around in it. I had not been out since I came home from church Sunday morning because I was afraid I might fall for my walkway and yard were completely covered with ice and snow. I know many of you have those in your family who help also. We are blessed.

Prayers for you and your family during the coming weeks and months that our nation might recover from the virus and be able to enjoy many of the things that we haven’t been able to during the pandemic.
