Edward Huston Gray, age 70, of Summertown, passed away Monday, February 08, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Huston is survived by his wife, Angela Gray of Summertown; his daughter, Dawn Blanchette (Ray) of Hohenwald; son, John Gray (Amy) of Summertown; grandchildren, Chris Blanchette, Jada Gray, and Justus Gray; great-grandchildren, Will Blanchette and Cane Blanchette; as well as many other family members.
Huston was born in Lawrence County to Edward Gray and Audie Mae Gray. He was a Tennessee resident for most of his life. At the age of 19, Huston began serving his country honorably in Vietnam, and his tour lasted from 1969 - 1971 when he returned home.
He met and married his wife Angela in October of 1971. They would spend nearly 50 years together raising two children along the way, and later would be blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Huston was a welder by trade before becoming disabled. He belonged to the American Legion Post 63 of Lawrenceburg, a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, and a member of Summertown Baptist Church.
Huston was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward and Audie Mae Gray; and three brothers, Howard Gray, Patrick Gray, and Charles Gray.
While Huston will be greatly missed, he leaves his family with memories and a legacy of love and strength that they will cherish and carry on for generations.
Arrangements were handled by Neal Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg. Funeral services were conducted at Summertown Baptist Church Saturday, February 13, 2021, with Howard Kitter and Thomas Mattox officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Garden Cemetery in Lawrence County with full military honors.
