Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

We’ve gone from a week of ice and snow to the month of March and storms beginning on Saturday evening and then off and on Sunday, with severe thunder and lightning and power outages every little bit. I have a monitor for the girls’ room and run a diffuser during the night and every time the power blinked it would go off and I would go reset it, but about the third time I moved them to the hall by my room on sleeping bags for the rest of the night. Glad that Monday is beginning with no rain and no thunderstorms. Hope it lasts through the week. The temperatures during last week and Sunday were really nice with it being in the low seventies and upper sixties most of the week. As the saying goes in Tennessee, you can have any kind of weather within a twenty-four hour period of any day, and I would not want to live anywhere else.

Those who are sick or shut-in and in need of prayers for whatever the need: David and Joyce Barnes, G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Burrell Brown, Dorothy Brown, Amy Carroll, Debbie Carroll, David Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Mary Ann Churchwell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Billy Cothran, Larry Evans, Buffy Farnsworth, Teresa Garland, Helen Hardin, Christy Hinson Graves, Tom Hornal, Mickey James, Monet King, Jackie McFall, Mona Runions, Nell Skelton, Freddie Sublett, Donnie Teefataller, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. Please continue to pray for our nation that it will heal from this virus that has so long disrupted our lives in many ways, including death to some of our loved ones, and for peace in our world.

Happy birthday to Roque Hammack and Neci Baker the 6th, Jackie Holt the 7th, Donna Hinson the 8th, and Wesley Carroll, Kerrigan Reeves, and Jessica James the 10th; wishing for these many more happy days to celebrate life and hope they have a great birthday.

We express sympathy to the family of Emanuel Wayne Dansby, Martha Jo Lewis Hudgins, James Terry Keathley, Bobby Joe Warren, Michael Ray Plunkett, Mike Castillo, Mark DeWayne Wright and Robert Barry Anderson. Prayers for these families and any other families that have lost loved ones.

Hoping that you were not affected by the flooding from the heavy rains from the thunderstorms last night and didn’t have long periods of power outages. It definitely was a night for changing weather. It was up in the seventies most of the day yesterday with children played outside and then at 9:00 p.m., it was still 66 degrees and at 2 a.m. it was 57. This morning started at 47 and by 10:00 it was down to 44 degrees. I was enjoying the warmer weather where the children could be outside some and get some fresh air. I guess we do not get everything we want and would not be good if we did because that is what makes a spoiled child and would also spoil us.

Jaxson Hinson enjoyed a birthday this past weekend with family and friends. He turned two. I know they had a wonderful time with all the children and food. Many more happy birthdays for him is our prayer. His mom, Shelby Hinson, also celebrated a birthday this past weekend. We wish for her many more years to enjoy life and family.

May you enjoy happiness and good health, as it seems the world is getting better of the Covid-19 and people begin to get out more and enjoy the beautiful world around us. Maybe spring will bring a more normal life. Of course I don’t believe it will ever be back to the normal life we knew before the beginning of the virus that has affected so many and caused many deaths.

Prayers for your family to enjoy this week as we begin a new month and move towards spring and perhaps some warmer weather and blooming flowers and trees besides the buttercups and daffodils. I love it when the shrubs and herbs begin to appear. I don’t know as much as I would like to about what many of them are used for but know there are lots of things that are for the healing of the body if we just knew all the ones around us. Have a wonderful week and enjoy the world around us and remember those who are still sick and shut-in and send cards and pray for them.
