Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
The Lewis County Lady Panthers took on the McNairy Central Lady Bobcats on Friday, March 26th.
Bria Wilcutt was starting pitcher for the Lady Panthers and the Lady Bobcats got a 2-run homerun after a leadoff single to take an early 2-0 lead.
Emily Graves picked up a two-out single followed by a walk to Nylah Halbrooks to put a runner in scoring position, but runners would be stranded, and Lewis County trailed by two after 1.
The Lady Bobcats would do damage in the second with two outs, pushing 4 runs across on 3 hits and 2 costly Lady Panther errors, posting a 6-0 lead after one and a half innings. Keira Halbrooks would reach on an error to begin play in the home second, but three straight Lady Panthers would go down on strikes and trailed by 6 after two complete.
In the top of the third the Lady Bobcats would get a one-out single and score 2 more on a pair of two-out hits to extend the lead to 8. The Lady Panthers would not be able to score a run in the third, only managing a two-out baserunner, Graves, on a walk. A walk and two more hits for the Bobcats would plate two more and McNairy Central held a 10-0 lead moving into the Lady Panthers final at-bat.
After 2 strikeouts in the fourth Anna Kate Duncan would reach on an error by the first baseman, but another strikeout would end the game with McNairy Central taking the 10-0 decision.
Emily Graves had the lone Lady Panther hit in the game.
