Citizens Bank pays tribute to former manager

Citizens Bank of Lewis County, a branch of Wayne County Bank, paid tribute and remembered its beloved manager, Marian Yates, by a hanging a portrait of Mrs. Yates in the lobby of the local bank.

Mrs. Yates lost her battle to complications of kidney cancer on April 4, 2020.

Mrs. Yates had a long and distinguished 35 year career in local banking and was a dedicated employee of Wayne County Bank since opening in November 2006 to provide the banking needs of Lewis County.

During her tenure at Citizens Bank, Mrs. Yates was an avid supporter of the local community and various organizations and activities, including the Lewis County Cancer Victims Fund, the local school system, the Lewis County Education Foundation Scholarship Program, the local law enforcement, youth athletic programs and her personal passion of supporting Christmas in Hohenwald through the City of Hohenwald.

In 2009, the Readers' Choice Awards selected Mrs. Yates as the Best Woman in Lewis County as well for several years she was voted as the Best Bank Executive by the citizens of Lewis County.

In attendance at the dedication were Mrs. Yates' friends and co-workers at Citizens Bank.
