Alice Landrum

Alice Faye Morgan Landrum peacefully left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday April 5, 2021 in her Hohenwald home surrounded by family. She was born December 22, 1948 to the late James and Iona Moreland Morgan in Chattanooga, TN.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Landrum, a brother Wendell Collins, and her son-in-law Mr. Steven Potts. Mrs. Landrum loved being a child of God and attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hohenwald. She belonged to many clubs including the yearbook committee at school, the CPW at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, as well as the Pilot Club of Hohenwald.

Mrs. Landrum found no greater joy than time with her family. In Mrs. Alice's own words, she loved being a wife, mother, nana, sister, and aunt. You could ask almost any child in Lewis County who their favorite teacher was, and they would always say Mrs. Landrum. She dedicated her life to the children as an English teacher for 26 years before taking on the role of counselor for another ten years. Her students meant the world to her as well as her college roommates Jenny, Peggy, and Sharon.

Some true passions of hers were good literature, history, and being creative with painting. Alice and her husband enjoyed the small-town life of Hohenwald and spending time on their farm taking in God's beautiful scenery while trying to conquer the latest Sudoku puzzle or showing people around their little piece of heaven on Earth. If anyone ever needed a pick me up, Alice was always there with open arms to give the biggest hugs. Along with her puzzles she enjoyed music, television, and food, especially dessert!

Alice leaves behind to carry on her legacy, her daughters, Terri Ann Potts, and Dolly Elizabeth Warren of Hohenwald; three sisters, Linda Kay (Tim) McAllister of La Fayette, Georgia, Patsy Gail (Dennis) Herndon and Elizabeth L. (Richard) Hamilton of Vero Beach, Florida; brother-in-law, Charles Malcolm (Hope) Landrum of Vero Beach, Florida, and a sister-in-law Cheryl Ann (Ronnie) Gribble of Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Landrum also leaves behind nine grandchildren, two great-grandsons, twelve nieces and nephews, and her K-9 companion Toby.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday, April 9 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel and again on Saturday April 10 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Brother Robert Heflen will be officiating. Mrs. Landrum's ashes will be placed on the family farm alongside her loving husband's.
