The Panther inning remained alive with hits from Sloan and Slade Moseley ahead of a three-run homerun by Maddox Cagle to give the Panthers a 7-4 lead. Jackson worked around a leadoff error to keep the Rebels off the board in the third, but the Panthers couldn't capitalize on a one-out single from Barnes and the score remained 7-4 after three. Jackson gave up back-to-back one-out hits and a walk in the fourth, bringing in the Rebels fifth run of the game and the score was 7-5 after three and a half innings. Slade Moseley would draw a walk and move around to score on an error on a hit by Feichtinger and the Panther lead would increase to 8-5 after four complete.
