Discovery Center Butterfly Garden

BUTTERFLY GARDEN - Leila Oertel who designed and planted the butterfly garden in the Discovery Center near Mill Street begs for volunteers every spring to help clean and maintain the garden.

This year two ladies came from afar, Pulaski, to be exact. Melissa Davis, who is the grandmother of Mable Anne Heath, and her friend, Carla Tinnin, traveled to Hohenwald to help bring the butterfly garden to life this year.

This location, when in full bloom this summer, is a favorite spot for photographers. "I really appreciate these ladies making such an effort to weed the garden and ready it for spring planting." stated Leila.
