LCHS tennis host Mt. Pleasant

The Lewis County Lady Panthers and Panthers tennis teams hosted matches with the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers and Tiger on Monday, April 12th at LCHS.

In girl’s play, Lewis County’s number 1 Ryleigh Ruddle faced off with Mt. Pleasant’s number 1 Lexi McKerman and Ruddle took the match by an 8-6 score. Neveah Walker played as Lewis County’s number 2 and took on Lady Tiger Kayley Nichols and won the 8-1 match. Amelia Davis played as Lewis County’s number 3 against Mt. Pleasant’s Maylee Fisher and won 8-0. Number 4 Isabel Greve faced Lady Tiger number 4 Haley Mayo and took an 8-0 win. Serenity Warman played as number 5 for Lewis County and took on Mt. Pleasant’s Ciera Bulcao and won the match 8-1. In doubles play, Serenity Warman and Amelia Davis took on Lexi McKerman and Kayley Nichols and the Lewis County duo took the victory 8-4

Lewis County was 5-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles play. The Lady Panthers have a 18-14 record in singles and 4-7 record in doubles.

There were only 2 matches in boys’ singles play on the day. n boy’s play, Panthers’ number 1 seed Bryson Clayburn took on Tigers’ number 1 seed Landan Manning and Clayburn took the win 8-0. In the pairing of number 2 seeds, Lewis County’s Braden Powers defeated Mt. Pleasant’s Harrison Stough 8-1. In the lone doubles’ matchup on the boy’s side, Lewis County’s Malachi Bruce and Braden Powers paired to face Landan Manning and Harrison Stough. The duo of Bruce and Powers took the match 8-2.

Lewis County was 2-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles play. The Panthers are now 16-11 in singles and 7-4 in doubles.
