Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
[I] had a great meeting last night with our Parks & Recreation Steering Committee, which is providing insight and recommendations as to how we can improve those areas of our community.
[The] Lewis County Government was awarded a $45,000 State Grant last year to hire an Architect & Engineering firm to provide a professional assessment of all the County's current Parks and Recreational facilities, inventory and programs, as well as provide detailed maps, demographic analysis, and plans for its future needs over the next 10 years.
This large "Parks and Recreation Master Plan" that is being developed is a huge step in becoming eligible for, and greatly increasing the County's chances to receive, upcoming Parks & Rec State Grants that are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Citizen input is crucial in determining the future direction and goals of our County's Parks and Recreation system, and a quick 5 minute survey has been created for residents of Lewis County to complete at the following link to let us know how you feel: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LewisCountyParks
Even if you do not currently participate in any of our parks and recreation system, we encourage you to complete this survey, as your opinion is very important to us!
The Steering Committee will also be conducting surveys in town on May 19 in order to reach out to the public and get their input. Contact the County Mayor's office at 796-3378 for location and time.
