Richard Sparkman Jr.

Richard Freeman Sparkman Jr. was born on October 18, 1944 in Hampshire to the late Richard Gibson Sparkman and Isabell Webster Sparkman. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Columbia.

Richard was united in holy matrimony to the late Anna Louise Sparkman and to this union 6 children were born.

He is know for being a hard worker, he was a former employer at Lewis Product and Monsanta. He enjoyed going fishing, hunting, dancing, and most of all being with his family. He was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Richard Carter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise Sparkman; son, Stanley Sparkman; brothers, Willie Lee Sparkman, Benjamin Sparkman, and Harry Sparkman; sisters, Lena Smith and Jennie Mac Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, six children, Isabell (Randall) Clemons of Hohenwald, Anna (Johnathan) Odom, Lanara "Lisa" (William) Odom, Richie Sparkman, all of Hampshire, Anthony (Ballie) Sparkman, and Melissa Odom both of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Sara (Randall) Hodge, April Odom, Shanika Odom, Amanda Odom, Michael Sowell, Jeffery Sparkman, Shaliyah Sparkman, Stephanie Sparkman, Darshaly Sparkman, Justin Sparkman, Clydarius Sparkman, Bishop Sparkman, Mhaygee Sparkman, Daisha Harvell, Justice Tibbs, Jayleah Tibbs, Jude Tibbs; 24 great- grandchildren; brothers, James Sparkman, Bobby (Jackie) Sparkman, Charlie (Tammy) Sparkman, Eula Sparkman, and Lewis Sparkman; sisters, Katherine (Jerry) Holt, Bertha Sparkman, Linda Sparkman, and Penny Sparkman; sister-in-laws, Theresa Smith and Addie Green; devoted companion, Joyce Addison; special nieces, Eyvonne Webster, Darlene Johnson, and Sonya Vaughn; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 1p.m. at the 8th and Woodland Street Church in Columbia. Eulogy is expected to be by Pastor Yvonne Ogilvie Gilbreath with interment to follow in the Ohio Field Cemetery.

Roundtree, Napier And Ogilvie Columbia Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
