Celebrate Independence Day with free concert and fireworks Featuring Sail On: The Beach Boys Tribute

Quickly becoming a summer tradition, the Community Concert returns this year on Friday, July 2, 2021 at The Lot, 36 North Maple.

Friends of the Lewis County Public Library and the City of Hohenwald invite you to enjoy an evening of family fun with train rides, food trucks, a performance by Sail On: the Beach Boys Tribute, and fireworks. All the fun begins at 5:30 p.m., with the free concert starting at 7:30 p.m., and the evening will end with a fireworks grand finale. Attendees will need to bring their own seating for the concert, and their dancin' shoes!

They get around! At over eighty shows a year, Sail On is the most booked Beach Boys tribute in the world! Bringing one of pop music's greatest legacies to audiences here in Hohenwald, Sail On will be this year's featured performance. Members of Sail On have performed with musicians from Brian Wilson's band, The Zombies, Earth Wind and Fire, Cheap Trick, Mark Lindsay and produced recordings for Micky Dolenz.

This free concert by Sail On provides an all-ages, family friendly show. Performing all of the classic Beach Boys hits, plus some treasures from their brilliant extended catalog, Sail On faithfully recreates the timeless songs of surfing, cruising, dancing, and dreaming for all ages, and anybody that wants to have Fun, Fun, Fun. Sing, clap, and move along to the irresistible beats and unforgettable tunes, or sit back and drift along on the sunny harmonies.

Prior to the concert there will be family fun and delicious food all beginning at 5:30 p.m. The family activities will include free water slides, face painting, yard games, community live art projects, fun photo stands and more. At minimal expense will also be "train" rides on the Lewis and Clarke Express and a variety of delicious festival foods including cotton candy, funnel cakes, corndogs, snow cones, hamburgers, loaded baked potatoes, ice cream, chicken/salmon salads, sweet treats and more.
