Martha Lou Craig of Hohenwald, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2021, at the age of 88.
Martha was born in Perry County, to Thomas Reuben Culp and Nora Winnie Lineberry on August 2, 1932. She attended school in Perry County.
Martha married Kenneth Craig in Perry County. Fondly known to many as simply "Nana", Martha worked in a variety of occupations. She was a hairdresser by trade, worked at h.i.s. in Hohenwald, Walmart in Hohenwald and finally as a CNA at Perry Community Nursing Home in Linden for many years. She never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation so easily. Nana's favorite pastime was listening to gospel music and spending time in meditation.
She loved to visit her friends in the community and check on them. She had a special affinity for the sick, elderly and loved to spoil children with her kindness. Another pastime was calling her friends and relatives every day to keep them up to date on happenings and check on them.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Craig; mother Nora Winnie Lineberry; father Thomas Reuben Culp; brothers, Roy Linell Culp of Wayne County, James Rex Culp of Pasadena, CA, and Mary Sue Culp (Trull) of Linden; and son-in-law Jerry Blakemore of Linden.
Martha is survived by daughter, Connie Blakemore; son, Garry Craig (Diane); grandchildren, Andrea Roberson, David Craig, Katie Reynolds, Keith Blakemore and Kristy Blakemore Ray; as well as great-grandchildren, Devin Craig, Tyler Roberson, Kenna Lou Roberson, Bodie and Layla Reynolds, and Conner and Joshua Blakemore. Also surviving is her favorite furbaby Tutu, a Boston terrier.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on July 1, 2021, at Chestnut Grove Church of Christ Cemetery, in Linden, TN, officiated by Donald Duncan.
