Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Hohenwald Open House

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Hohenwald will be hosting an Open House for prospective students on July 27, 2021 from 3 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Open House is open to the general public, but is also designed for high school juniors and seniors who would like to dual enroll with TCAT Hohenwald. TCAT faculty and staff will be available to assist in touring any prospective technical program, for both the full-time student or potential dual enrollment student.

Unfortunately, at the July Open House time, it is not likely the new TCAT Expansion will be open yet. The Tennessee College will officially sponsor an Open House and Ribbon-Cutting at a later time in hopes of fall enrollment.

The TCAT will also be offering a new ‘dual enrollment’ Pre-Practical Nursing Program designed for juniors and seniors to enroll in the first trimester of Practical Nursing. With high school graduation, the successful student will only have the second and third trimester to complete in order to graduate from the one-year TCAAT LPN program. The design of the high school dual enrollment Pre-Practical Nursing will be to dual enroll for two blocks in the Fall of 2021 and for another two block (equal 216 hours) in the Spring 2022.

TCAT Hohenwald is on a “trimester” term, where students may enroll for up to 432 hours of full-time enrollment. TCAT Hohenwald is based on actual clock hours, where the entire PN Program is one year in length or 1296 hours.

On July 22, 2021, many of the high school students will be scheduling classes for their high school year with LCHS. Many of the TCAT Programs offer dual enrollment as a part of the high school day. High school students must schedule dual enrollment with the high school in order to dual enroll with TCAT Hohenwald. With dual enrollment hours, the high school student will have earned hours and credit toward any full-time TCAT Program, as well as high school credit.
