Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
March 7, 1949 ~ July 3, 2021
Larry T. Evans of Hohenwald passed away Saturday afternoon July 3, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center at the age of 72.
He was born March 7, 1949 in Brownsville to the late Ellis and Christine Watson Evans. Once he moved to Hohenwald, Larry worked for Phillip Louque doing construction before taking on a new role with Dana. After leaving Dana he enrolled in trucking school and began his career as a truck driver for Averett. He was a huge football fan from the beginning. He played for the Wildcats during his high school years. The love would carry on into adulthood as he would cheer on his favorite U.T. Vols on Saturday afternoons. In his spare time, he enjoyed heading to any body of water to go fishing and relax or traveling to other destinations to explore. He was a very generous and giving soul. He would give you his last dollar to make sure you did not want. His grandchildren and the memories made were his best times. Nothing could take the place of the time he had with them. Larry was a comical being, always making those around him smile. Mr. Evans was a member of United Methodist.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Travis; grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Gabriel, Andrew, Anthony, and Amos; longtime significant other, Joy Franks; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith Evans.
Visitation with family and friends was held Wednesday, July 7 in the chapel of Adair Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. with burial following in Memorial Gardens. Brother Bobby Carroll officiated.
