Series: Gordonsburg | Story 64

We had a slight break in the temperatures for a few days because of the thunderstorms that have been happening in the area. We also had rain and it was heavy in some areas and not so much in others. I guess it is because of the rain we had from the thunderstorms but the temperatures have also been somewhat lower. The past few days has been in the upper eighties and nineties. The hot humid days and nights really bother those who have breathing problems and it is best to be inside and drink plenty of water.

Those that I know of that are sick at home, in the hospital or nursing homes are: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, L. C. Let us all pray for those who have the covid and that our nation will soon heal from this illness which has crippled our nation. Remember to pray for all sick and visit if you can or send a card or a phone call to let them know you are thinking of them.

Happy birthday to Kathleen Carroll the 20th, Renee Bates, Adam Clayton, Amanda Odom and Gary Beard the 21st, Todd Graham, Florine Johnston, and Whitney King the 22nd, Bratcher Clayton and Bendi Barnes the 24th, Debbie Pierce the 25th, and Bethany Sims, Kinley Pace and Luke Roberson the 26th. We wish for these a very good day and may they have many more to celebrate.

We express our sympathy to the families of Ronald “Moon” Everett Trull, Johnathan Leon Bates, Bobby Frazier, James Curtis Pendergrass Sr., Charles “Chuck” William Whitton, Ima Pearl Gordon, and Elizabeth Ann Tarkington. Please pray for these and other families that are learning to live without someone you love for this is not easy and can cause much pain and sorrow.

Most of the children are now back in school. Some of the younger are phasing in and not all are going at the same time. This allows them to get used to the classroom and a few of their peers at a time. I think this is a great idea for students and children alike.

I saw this on a marquee the other day and it is so true, “Contentment is not getting more but being satisfied with what you have”. I think we could all learn from practicing this.

I pray that your family will have a great week and remember those who are less fortunate and help where you can.
