Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
This past week and weekend we had lots of thunderstorms with heavy rain and the creeks get up but we were lucky that we did not have the flooding that occurred in some areas. Heavy flooding occurred with some areas reporting 12 to 15 inches of rain in a short period of time with houses and buildings washed away or damaged and the loss of lives. The Waverly area suffered so much damage and lost lives when the water rose so fast that people did not have time to get to safety. Prayers for those in that area and others where there was so much damage.

There was a birthday party at the home of Jesse Eastep and Macy to celebrate Miles and Zebualon’s birthdays this past Sunday. There was lots of food including cake and ice cream and the boys received many gifts and there was even water balloons for the children whch cooled them off. Many friends and relatives helped them celebrate.
We express our sympathy to the families of Jerry Lewis Scott, Verna Ruth Brown, Jeremy Chad Combs, Dexter Hargrave, Christy Hinson Graves, Joyce Ann Keeton Hill, Prince “Mickey” Michael Warden, Eddie Ray “Poppy” Feichtinger, Andrew J. Gingerich, and Claudine Hughes Cline. Please pray for these and other families that are learning to live without someone you love for this is not easy and can cause much pain and sorrow.
Praying that your family has a good week and remember those who are less fortunate and help where you can. Especially remember those who are suffering from the loss of loved ones and personal property during the floods.
