Week of September 16

The past week has been like the one before but the weekend was warmer and so we are probably going to have some warmer weather again. This is the way it goes most of the time before it really gets into fall. The weather is like fall, but then it is summer again. I enjoy the cooler temperatures and even the ones at night in the fifties and sixties.

Those that I know of who are sick at home, in the hospital or nursing homes are: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, L.C. Bowen, Amy Carroll, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Tommy Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Linda Churchwell, Bailey Cromwell, Tommy Edwards, Ronald Hinson, Faye Kilpatrick, Monette King, Colben Ly, Greg McCann, William McCann (fell and has some bruising and is sore), Jackie McFall, Bill Moore (recovering from surgery), Earl Rasbury, Shirley Reeves, Marsha Runions, Mona Runions, Vera Runions, Neil Skelton, Wayne Tiller (home after a visit to the ER), Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. Please keep all of these in your prayers daily and any others that you know of that are sick.

Happy birthday to Cash Creasy, Rhett Staggs and Danielle Haygood the 17th, Jamie Russell the 18th, Raelynn Eastep and Larry Hinson the 19th, Kenneth Carroll and Lyra Kaye Franklin the 20th, Bryson Troutman the 23rd, and Barbara Hinson and Caroline Mae Odom the 24th. We wish for these a very happy birthday and may they have many more to celebrate.

Happy anniversary to Burrell and Lynn Brown the 22nd and Brad and Diana Holt the 23rd. We wish for these couples many more years to celebrate life together.

We express our sympathy to the families of Irene Baker Hinson, James “Jim” Burton Fuller, Richard “Dick” Spencer, Bobby O’Neil Breece, Charles Thomas Harrington, Dawn Sue Johnson, Rebecca Loretta Burke, Paul Edward Godwin, and Timothy Kevin Copley. Prayers for all these families and others we may not know about.

My grandsons Jesse and Timothy spent most of the day Saturday mowing and weed eating four yards, mine included. They look really good as always just after they are mowed but won’t take long before they look ragged again. I fixed a big pot of spaghetti and took to Jeanea’s which is where most of the children were for the day and they all enjoyed the food and being able to be together playing around the yard. They even picked up some apples that had fallen from the tree and took them to the cows. I really appreciate all the work they did and some of them even worked on the holding pen and loading chute in the barn lot.

I hope you have a great week and can enjoy being with your family and spending time with family, perhaps even your grandchildren and even the great-grandchildren. I pray that you have health and happiness during the coming days and remember those less fortunate and help where you can. We have several who are quarantined because of covid or exposure to it so be sure and take care and protect you and your family.

Week of September 23

We have had a week of mixed temperatures with the nights even being in the seventies and the days reaching into the eighties. We have also had a lot of rain and even today, Monday, it has rained almost continuously for most of the day. The creek was already up and just hope it doesn’t get over the road or into the fields or peoples dwelling places. As they say, this has been weather for ducks.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, hospital or nursing home are William McCann (suffering with a bruised wrist and still sore from his fall), Ronnie Hinson (had eye surgery but was able to be at church on Sunday), and Amy Carroll who will have her surgery next week if they don’t postpone it again. Others who desire prayer or need prayers for healing are G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, Joann Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Tommy Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Linda Churchwell, Bailey Cromwell, Tommy Edwards, Ray Kilpatrick, Monette King, Colben Ly, Jackie McFall, Bill Moore, Shirley Reeves, Marsha Runions, Mona Runions, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers and remember others who are sick with the virus and in places where people are suffering persecution.

Happy birthday to Caroline Odom the 24th, Brooke Duncan the 26th, to Brooklynn Paige Eastep and Elizabeth Jean Hinson the 27th, David Duncan, Terry Stutts, Molly McCann and Mellie Haywood the 28th, to Jean Dickey the 29th. We wish for all of these a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate.

Happy anniversary to Burrell and Lynn Brown the 22nd, to Mark and Abbey McDonald the 22nd, and Brad and Diana Holt the 23rd. Wishing for these couples many more years to celebrate life together.

Our sympathy goes out to the families of Earl Rasbury, Mike Garner, Teresa Gail Riley Hinson, Willie Dean Stinnett Pulley, Wilma Loveless Cash, Hilbert Young Jr., Frederick Alan Breece, Larry Edward Grimes, Calvin Coy Essary, and Mildred Louise Bridges. We are praying for these families and any others who have lost loved ones that we do not know about.

Several gathered on Saturday afternoon to enjoy a fish fry at the annex at Pineview church, there were many other things there and not just fish but all the things that go with a fish meal and even some frog legs and lots of different desserts. It was great to get to visit with others even though it rained part of the time.

There was a birthday cookout at the home of Jeanea Warf for her granddaughter Raelynn Eastep on Sunday afternoon and many of her family and friends attended including her great-grandmother, Dorothy Warf. She received many gifts and the best gift which many children do not appreciate - clothes. Everyone had a good time even if there was some problem with the water at one point but that was corrected.

Hopping the water does not keep you from getting where you need to go and doesn’t cause any problems with the children trying to get home from school.

Hope you have a great week and remember to help where there is a need and pray for any who are in need.
