One Day At A Time

Well it is a cool and rainy morning here in our little valley, the wind is blowing and I can hear a low rumble of thunder. The cats have eaten and are snuggled down for their nap, I think they like this cooler weather. The trees are beginning to take on more of their fall colors and I have noticed that the yellow goldenrod flowers are in full bloom.

The neighbor boys came over and cut down some trees we had along the creek that were dead and that made us a big stack of firewood for our wood heater this winter. I still call them boys but they are young men. They sure are good to help us out and take care of us, I always call them when we are needing help.

There is still a lot of sickness going around, and the covid seems really bad, but I am hearing about several people recovering now. I know we have had other pandemics over the years but nowadays there are a lot more people and it seems that we are living in the fast lane. We all need to do our part to stay as safe as we can and to help others - this thing too will pass. We have to keep praying for ourselves and others.

I want to thank our Lewis County family and friends for recognizing all of our hometown heroes and I thank each one of our heroes that are out there everyday watching over us and keeping us safe. Let’s keep each one of them in our prayers. We were out running errands and I saw a little lady walking and carrying her grocery bag and she was not far from the grocery store. I noticed one of our police officers across the street keeping a watch for safety. I am sure she felt safe knowing they were there. I was thinking I hope this never changes here in our hometown where we take care of one another. “Thank You Lewis County Heroes” - you are our family.

Well the thunder is getting closer and the winds are blowing harder so I guess we will have more rain. I like days like this, as long as it doesn’t get bad stormy.

It has been a busy week. I did get some pear preserves made up, we just had to sample them on a hot biscuit with butter, not too bad.

Well I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am taking one day at a time. God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless.
