James L Stokes

Mr. James “Jim” L Stokes passed away in the morning hours on September 17, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was born to the late Luther and Ruth Strickland Stokes on May 23, 1936 in Waycross, GA.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Betty Stokes.

After school Mr. Stokes enlisted in the United States Marine Corp before retiring and attending the University of Florida. He was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church, Hohenwald, where he attended until he was unable to do so.

Jim was a very committed father and grandfather. He loved the arts and would often show his creativity in wood turning and rustic art pieces he created. His presence will be missed by all that had the honor of meeting and knowing him.

He is survived by his son Michael Stokes; grandchildren Benjamin McCabe, Renee Lingo, Seth Stokes, and Ruby Jean Stokes; great grandchildren Jackson Lingo, Cody Lingo, and Lydia Branch.

A small private graveside was held on Sunday September 26,2021 in Hohenwald.

Adair Funeral & Cremation Services assisted the family with arrangements.
