Lewis County students compete in first fishing tournament

The Lewis County BASS Nation High School/Junior Fishing Team competed in the first tournament of the 2021-22 season. The tournament took place on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Pickwick.

There were 206 high school boats and 77 junior boats competing on Saturday. Lewis County had two high school boats and one junior boat in the tournament. Boat number 25 was Andon Lowery and Rett Middleton, both in their senior year of high school at LCHS, weighing in two fish for 3.52 pounds. Their boat captain was Hunter Bastin. Boat number 114 was Bentley Kelsey and Steele Moseley, both freshman at LCHS, weighing in two fish for 2.77 pounds. Their boat captain was Laine Spears. In the junior division, Cayleb Moore and Kegan Clayton were representing Lewis County and weighed in one fish for 2.76 pounds.

The next tournament will be October 23 at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake.
