Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
Well it is a beautiful cold morning here in our little valley. The cats have had their breakfast and a little warm milk and are now back in their beds. I am having my cup of hot coffee, I have got a good warm fire going in the old wood heating stove. I sure enjoy these cold winter mornings. I know it is still fall but it sure feels like an early winter morning. We got a little more of our Christmas decorations up. I love this time of year.
I have got my turkey for Thanksgiving. There is some talk that we might not be able to get one because of the shortages but I haven’t seen a shortage yet, but there may be one later. You know we don’t have to have a turkey, when we were growing up mama would bake a hen and make dressing. We didn’t know we had to have turkey. I still love a big old juicy hen with dressing and all the trimmings. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with all your family.
It is hard to believe that we are coming upon a new year, 2022. We’ve gotten through another year. I know we are all looking forward to a better year and trying to get back to some kind of normal. There have been some good things come from all the bad that we’ve all been through. I think everybody can see some good things from the bad if we look close. We are all a little older but maybe we’re also a little wiser.
Thanks to all of you that read my little story and for all the sweet cards and comments and calls. I just hope my ramblings from an old lady can bring a little joy and a smile to someone. I guess I repeat myself sometimes but I just write about what is on my mind. I am just a happy and blessed old woman and I want everyone to also feel happy and blessed.
I have got a busy day ahead so I have got to finish my coffee and get busy. I think I am going to put a big pan of sweet potatoes in to bake for dinner today. I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God Bless.
