Christmas Parade December 2

"They Never Let Poor Rudolph Join In Any Reindeer Games..."

We've all belted the lyrics in our shiny red outfits with Santa hats and bells in grade school Christmas programs while Mrs. Partridge mouthed the words and directed with that wand thing and little Timmy outshined the whole crew with his hip dance moves, but have we ever stopped to think about poor Rudolph here? His bully sled-mates wouldn't let him play any Reindeer games! Why? Was it because he was different? A different color? He shined brighter than those around him? Hmmmm... As a "Woke" society, I'd like to think that behavior wouldn't fly nowadays, but we all know, there will always be folks around us who exclude you because your light is just too bright for them in their negative, dark self. But, just what kind of games was the brightest, most unique, useful reindeer excluded from? THAT'S WHAT WE WANT TO KNOW!

Put your thinking caps on and show off your most creative, fun REINDEER GAMES in float form for the 2021 South Central Area Fair "Reindeer Games" Christmas Parade on Thursday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m.

$1000 in Cash Prizes will be given away to THE BEST, MOST UNIQUE FLOATS this year! And with the endless possibilities, this should be a FUN ONE!

And, don't worry, Rudolph may be the brightest reindeer, but he could never steal the show from the man in red! SANTA will be traveling from the North Pole to Hohenwald JUST FOR THIS EVENT! And, he's even giving out candy from his sled!

See the ad on page A-3 for more details on date, time and how to enter and/or watch!

Oh yeah, and let's not forget how the reindeer loved him and cheered his name on only AFTER Santa asked him to lead the bully crew. The point is, don't depend on/wait for others to see your worth! When you were born to shine, you were born to shine! So go down in History, baby!
