Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

We are experiencing some unusual weather for December but in Tennessee that is not uncommon. It has been warm enough to be out without a coat and that is why so many are having problems with allergies. We are thankful that we missed all the disasters that have plagued our nation and especially the southern states, the flood earlier this year that so devasted Waverly and then the tornadoes last week and the week before that caused so many deaths and so much damage to the areas where they struck. By the end of this week we will be entering a new year and let us hope that our nation can experience better health conditions for many who have been sick with covid and other diseases that have tormented our nation.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: G.Y. Bennett, Connie Bonner, Dorothy Brown, Teresa Capps, Amy Carroll, Girdie Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Monica Dupont, Johnny Dryden, Buffy Farnsworth, Wilburn Franks, Callie Garrison, Connie Lindsey, Labri Kendrick, Lyda Mae Hooper, Monette King, Colben Ly, Raquel Mallari, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Jackie McFall, Bill Moore, Norene O’Kelly, Donna Owen, Colene Rasbury, Shirley Reeves, Marsha Runions, Mona Runions, Bill Seiber, Joe Ship, Nell Skelton, Madlyn Tharp, Jim and Jan Walker, Diane White, Chris Whitehead, Annette Williams and Selina Young. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers.

We wish a happy late birthday to Joe Garner and Jimmy Barber on January 1st, to Rachel Barber the 3rd, Keith Reeves the 4th, Kenley Bates and Jerry Roberson the 5th, and Jacie Hinson the 6th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Jerry and Cathey Roberson on January 1st. We wish for this couple many more years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones - Mary Charlene Messer, Joan Carroll, Eran Chase Moss, Brenda Faye Amacher, and Roy Wayne Harrington. Prayers for all these families and any others that we may not know about.

I want to wish everyone a happy new year and remember that you don’t have to make resolutions on the first day of the year. These can be made on any day of the year, and you can start to make your life better by improving the things you do each day, like taking an extra walk or eating more healthy to improve your overall health. Be sure you stay in one place or have a driver who does not drink if you want to celebrate with alcohol for the beginning of the new year.

Wishing for you and yours a very good January blessed with good health and happiness, and also the complete year of 2022. It seems like a dream that we are going into the year 2022 as the year of 2021 passed so fast or so it seems to me. I guess the older you get, the faster time seems to move.
