Pace steps down from head role

Director of Lewis County Schools, Benny Pace, announced his resignation at a school breakfast meeting on Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022. Pace has served as Director of Schools for 19 years.

"You are my people and will always be my people," Director Pace told the gathering of teachers. He acknowledged the influence of his fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Cantrell, and said she always nudged him in the right direction.

Chair of the Lewis County School Board, Glenda Atkinson, said the board would most likely discuss finding Director Pace's replacement at their next meeting on Tuesday, January 11th. T...
