William Earl Morris

Earl Morris, of Hohenwald, passed from his earthly home to his eternal one on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the age of 83.

Earl was born in Beech Creek, TN, on January 19, 1939, to Willie Coy Morris and Marian Francis (Pulley) Morris. He grew up and married the love of his life, Melva Anne Barnes, and they resided in Hohenwald. Earl worked at Dana in Hohenwald for 34 years, but his most beloved profession was preaching the gospel. He was a Church of God preacher in Summertown for 34 years as well.

Earl is survived by his wife, Melva Anne Morris; daughter, Karen (Bluford) Warren; sons, William Walter (Sheila) Morris and James Lynn (Angie) Morris, all of Hohenwald; brothers, James Frank Morris, Charles Morris, Don Morris, Virgil Morris; sister, Kathleen Livingston; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Darlene Shoemaker, and two brothers, David and Harold Morris.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 29, in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Webb and Terry Curtis officiating. Entombment followed in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
