One Day At A Time

Series: One day at a time | Story 50

Well it is a cool spring morning here in our little valley, the sun is shining across the front porch but it was a little too cool to take my coffee and sit in the swing, but much warmer days are on the way. The cats were really hungry this morning and it was cool so they got a little bowl of warm milk with their breakfast, one of them was not here for breakfast so I went looking for her and the other cats came with me, we found her watching a squirrel up in a tree, we told her that breakfast was ready and she came running.

Well it has been a busy week, we did some more cleaning outside, I washed some more windows and we washed the front porch and Bobby did some more pressure washing. It will be hot weather before long so we are trying to get as much done outside as we can while it is still cool. I am loving this weather and being outside. My rose bushes are budding and soon they will be in full bloom.

Last week when Hunter was here, Bobby and him took down an old grape arbor that we had for many years and it was a really big job, the arbor had six big supporting post in the ground but Hunter hooked a chain to his truck and pulled each post up and pulled up the old grape vines, it sure looks a lot better. Don’t know what we would do without Hunter and his big truck.

Me and Bob went for our physicals and we got good reports, thank you Dr. Kamal and all the staff at Lewis Health Center. I am so thankful that we have good doctors and nurses here close by to take care of us, and they really do care about us. We are just about five minutes from the clinic and if we ever need them we can call and they can take care of us right there. Dr. Kamal has taken care of me and Bob for a long time and we are both in good health first thanks to the good Lord, and also to Dr. Kamal. Thank you we love you Dr. Kamal and staff.

Bob has got the breakfast dishes washed and the kitchen spotless as normal. With our breakfast this morning we had homemade gravy and biscuits along with some of our canned blueberry jam. For lunch I am going to cook a big pot of pinto beans and a pot of cabbage. It won’t be long before people will be having fresh vegetables coming from their gardens, I have been seeing a lot of gardens being put out this year and most of them are big gardens, some people even have two gardens, lots of people’s potato plants are coming up. I know the prices of groceries are really going higher along with the prices of everything else, maybe more people will be canning and putting things up this year, hopefully there won’t be a shortage on jar lids and canning supplies like there was last year.

I have finished my coffee and the cats have finished eating and they are out in the yard chasing butterflies. I have got a very busy day planned. I just walked out on my front porch and it sure has warmed up, it is going to be a wonderful day and I am not going to worry about tomorrow, I am going to take one day at a time because God still has everything under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless.
