Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 99

Summer appears to be upon us as the temperature reaches close to ninety degrees some days, we also had a thunderstorm on Saturday evening with fierce lightening and wind with rain. The rain was much needed, and we also got more rain on Sunday evening. I was glad that it did not rain during the homecoming at Palestine Cemetery. We had a good turnout and a good donation thanks to all who came and hopefully others that were not able to make it will send donations to the Regions Bank for the Palestine fund.

The children are now out of school for the summer and are looking for things to do, the public library has programs during the summer a couple of times a week for children. These are very good programs, and the children really enjoy them so if you have time take your children to some or all of these.

Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend and remember all those who are serving or have served to keep our nation free. There will be a parade on Monday to celebrate all those who have served and are serving from this area.

Many in the area are cutting hay currently and the weather had been really good but with the rain lately it is hard to get the hay up and in the dry. There are also many in the area who have gardens and they are beginning to produce, and the rain is good for them. I guess it takes all kind of weather to help with all the different things that people do.

Praying for you and your family to have a great week and days to come, hopefully you will be blessed with good health and happiness.
