Vannie Lee (Haynes) Bowen Kilpatrick, 97, passed away on May 30, 2022 at AHC Lewis County. Vannie was born on June 16, 1924 in Perry County to the late Charlie and Ada (Carter) Haynes.
When Vannie was able, she enjoyed a trip to Tunica, growing a big garden or going fishing. She was a true pioneer woman and tough as nails. She was intelligent, by her own making; always watching the news to keep up with current events.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, L.C. (Wilma) Bowen; daughters, Brenda (Robert) Treadwell and Peggy French; 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lester Bowen and Tom Kilpatrick; her children, Joyce Dicus, Jewell Powers, and Diane Gay; her grandchildren, James Michael Chappell, T.J. Bunch, Laura Shapiro and Leigh Gay Warren; and her son-in-law, Eddie Minyard.
Visitation with Ms. Kilpatrick's family was held Wednesday, June 1 in the chapel of McDonald Funeral Home. Graveside services were held on Wednesday, June 1 at Graves Cemetery in Perry County.
