Public Library and Archives host second Storybook Walk

Lewis County Public Library and Archives hosted their second Storybook Walk on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Ag Pavilion in Memorial Park with the help of several community partners. Participants gathered to hear "Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map" from the library's own Pirate Jaimee. The Pilot Club of Hohenwald shared a puppet show about brain safety and water safety. The Elks Club had a fun, interactive display with a crew of pirates and wonderful model ship display. Mayor Danny McKnight and his friends created custom pirate artwork for each child. Mayor Jonah Keltner welcomed participants with "loot bags" from the Litter Grant. Friends of the Lewis Library made pirate and sea creature crafts with the young visitors and gave each participant a copy of "Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map."

Thank you to the Pilots, the Elks, Mayor McKnight, Mayor Keltner, the Friends, Memorial Park, Staci Warden, Courtney Fellers, Caroline Bodamer, Jeremiah Wiebe, Christopher and Hadley Spitzer, and everyone who helped make this event a success.

The library's next family event is Shaping our Oceans on Friday, June 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the library.
