Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
We are really experiencing some high temperatures in the area with most days being in the nineties and nights still in the seventies and with little or no rain. Pastures and gardens and even yards are suffering from lack of rain. Hopefully we will get some before too long.
Those I know of who are sick either at home, nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Terry Anderson, Connie Bonner, L.C. Bowen, Kathleen Carroll, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Buffy Farnsworth, Calvin Harris, Cruz Henderson, Labri Kendricks, Martha Hensley, Lyda Mae Hooper, Shirley Howe, Monette King, Colben Ly, Raquel Mallari, Brittany Mash, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Betty Odom, Donna Owen, Pam Pullman, Colene Rasbury, Mona Runions, Bill Seiber, Roy Sharp, Joe Shipp, Vickie Skelton, Nell Skelton, Howard Tripp, Jim Walker, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers. Let us remember those in areas where there are wars and daily fear for themselves and their families.
We wish a happy birthday to Abbie Haigh the 24th, Hunter McDonald the 27th, Neil Ann McDonald the 29th, and Girdie Carroll the 30th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.
Happy anniversary to Adam and Deanne Barnes. Wishing for this couple many more years to celebrate life together.
Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week. Those I know of Eva Virginia Carroll Dudley, Conner Spicker, James Franklin Reed, Lorene Parker, Virgil “Herby” Hardeman Nolen, James “But” Irvin Campbell, Patricia Faye Smith, Deborah Jeanne Kittrell Coleman, Dennis E. Whittenberg, Ramond Thomas Scott, and Leslie Gene Harris. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.
I know a lot of people are traveling to cities for all-star and other winning ball teams in tournaments. We were in Clifton all day Saturday for the Dixie Youth 7- & 8-year old first game series, won one lost one but will play again on Monday evening and probably Tuesday too. It is a lot of time and planning for these trips but am proud of the girls in their accomplishments. Wishing safety and health to all players and families traveling for these events and best of luck to all of them. Thanks to the great coaching staff that works with these groups of young people.
We are nearing the end of the sixth month of this year and will soon begin the last half of the year; it doesn’t seem possible but as they say time travels fast - the older you get the faster it goes. July fourth will soon be here, and we will celebrate our nation and all it stands for.
The Lewis County Historical Society will not have a meeting in July but watch for announcements about the upcoming August meeting. Enjoy the time ahead and don’t look back except for good memories.
Praying for each one to have a safe and healthy time to spend with family and friends. Remember those who cannot get out and visit, call or send cards to encourage them.
