Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
We have had a wet week and that is good although there were lots of thunderstorms around the area but no damage that I know of except lots of twigs and limbs around the area. We are thankful that we did not have the flooding that Kentucky is facing with lots of deaths and lots of homes and businesses destroyed, and we pray for them. Such devasting as this is not easily recovered from.
Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Kathleen Carroll, Madison Chappell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Bailey Cromwell, Buffy Farnsworth, Wilburn Franks, Calvin Harris, Labri Kendricks, Martha Hensley, Jim Holloway, Wayne Holloway, Lyda Mae Hooper, Shirley Howe, Monette King, Bruce Ligon, Colben Ly, Raquel Mallari, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Brittany Mash, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Betty Odom, Pam Pullman, Colene Rasbury, Hattie Roberts, Mona Runions, Bill Seiber, Roy Sharp, Joe Ship, Vickie Skelton, Nell Skelton, Cameron Tripp, Howard Tripp, Jim Walker, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers. Remember also in your prayers in areas where there are wars and daily fear for themselves and their families and the soldiers that are stationed there.
We wish a happy birthday Landon Odom and Tracy Morales the 6th, Kelli Burcham and David Clayton the 7th, Lucas Runions the 8th, Jennifer Lewis and Jenna Tompkins the 9th, Shasta Turner the 10th, and Amber Lancaster the 11th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.
Happy anniversary to Derrick and Shannon Graves on the 8th, and Collie and Amber Lancaster the 11th, we wish for them many more years to spend time celebrating life together.
Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week that I know of Hilda Fay Nolen Jackson, Donavan Nathaniel Blake Conner, Riley Spencer O’Lary, William Samuel Vance Sr., Floyd Randell King, Jerry Don Ammons, Mildred Louvine Dunn, and Betty Lee (Davis) Jones. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.
This is the week that school will begin and some of the children are ready and others would just as soon stay home and not attend, but they should learn that this is the best time of their lives and the only time to learn all they can to prepare for the future no matter what grade they are in.
The Lewis County Historical Society will be having a meeting and picnic on August 18, 2022, hope everyone interested will make plans to attend. It will be held at the Grinder’s cabin located by Meriwether Lewis’s monument. Time will be 6 pm and bring a chair and your supper. We will be celebrating Lewis’s birthday and also will have a guest speaker.
Wishing for all of you a safe and happy week with good health. If you are going to be out, you might want to take an umbrella as showers have been popping up often around the area.
