Gordonsburg/ Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 114

The nights lately have been cooler in the upper sixties, but the days are still in the eighties unless there is a thunderstorm with wind and rain and that has happened a lot lately. We need the rain, so we do not complain. The weather is one thing we can do nothing about except talk about it.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Bobby Carroll had some surgery on his back and is very sore, Dorothy Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Madison Chappell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Wilburn Franks, Ophelia Green, Calvin Harris, Martha Hensley, Wayne Holloway, Shirley Howe, Monette King, Bruce Ligon, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Helen McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Betty Odom, Lonnie Odom, Pam Pullman, Colene Rasbury, Hattie Roberts, Mona Runions, Russell Runions, Roy Sharp, Joe Ship, Vickie Skelton, Nell Skelton, Jim Walker, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers. Remember also in your prayers those in areas where there are wars and daily fear for themselves and their families and the soldiers that are stationed there.

We wish a happy birthday to Melissa Keller, Susan Holt, and Kathy Sims the 10th, Brennan Holt the 121th, Danny Holt, Judy Crowell and Jeff Tanner the 12th, and Bill Seiber the 15th. Wishing for these a very happy birthday and many more years to celebrate life.

Happy anniversary to Walter and Fran Mears the 11th, Wylie and Betty Carroll and William and Helen McCann the 13th, we wish for these many more years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those who have lost loved ones this past week that I know of James (Jimmy) Gary Allen Jr., John Sullivan Brennan Sr., Joseph Terry Whitaker Sr., Kerri Dawn Ellison, Majorie Jane (Myatt) Northcott, Charles Edwin “Eddie” Stinson, Kevin Wayne Brasel, and Donna Renei Russell. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.

Hope you and your family had a great Labor Day weekend and were able to spend it with family and friends and enjoy the time off from work. It will be a while before there is another time when most people that work will be off for holidays.

Remember those who are sick and shut-in and visit if you can and if not send a card or make a phone call, people get lonely when they are confined at home or in nursing facilities and need to know that someone cares for them.

Prayers for you and your family to have a good week blessed with happiness and health. Remember to pray for all those who are less fortunate and help them if you can.
