Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898
April 2, 1942 ~ September 5, 2022
In the evening hours of September 5, 2022, Carol Yvonne Anglin Ballard left this earthly world at AHC Lewis County. Ms. Ballard was born in Columbia, Tennessee, on April 2, 1942, to the late Love and Addie Kelley Anglin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor Ballard; her infant daughter Phoebe Carol Haley; her brothers Roy Ronald Anglin, Ernie C. Anglin, James Webb Anglin, Vester Anglin, Wayne Udell Anglin, and Edward Anglin; and her sisters Willie Mae Harper, Lucille Potts, and Odelle Anglin.
Ms. Carol leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Lisa Renee Darden (Mark) of Hohenwald and Robert Anthony Haley of Hickman County; her loving granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Darden; and great-grandchild Brayden Lynn Downs, both of Hohenwald.
Ms. Ballard began working at the age of 14 at Stan's Restaurant in Columbia to help her family after the passing of her father. After marrying Mr. Taylor, they moved to Chicago to raise the family before returning home to Tennessee. While in Chicago, she worked at Fenton High School helping the kids as a hall monitor which allowed her to help all the kids stay out of mischief. She was loved by all the children.
Carol was not only loved by all the children she was able to help, but also by all that knew her. She was known to be feisty at times and spoke her mind. She was never one to hold back and worked incredibly hard her entire life. When she wanted to take a break, she would get her creativity going by working on an oil painting. Ms. Ballard had a love of all animals, especially her dogs and cats, and thoroughly enjoyed raising horses and goats.
There are currently no services planned. Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Waggin' Tails Sanctuary and mailed to 1537 Linden Highway, Hohenwald, TN 38462.
