Series: Gordonsburg | Story 116

Although the nights have still been cool with temperatures in the fifties and sixties it is supposed to be in the upper eighties and even in the nineties during the days for the next several days. I like the cooler temperatures and know that soon it will be cooler both day and night. That always is the way of fall weather and the humidity has not been high which makes it better for those who have breathing problems.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Connie Bonner, L C Bowen, Bobby Carroll, Dorothy Carroll, Kathleen Carroll, Madison Chappell, Spencer Clark, Fada Clay, Colleen Farr, Wilburn Franks, Ophelia Green, Calvin Harris, Shirley Howe, Leon Hunter will have a pace maker put in soon, Monette King, Bruce Ligon, Claire Elizabeth Mayberry, Linda Mercer, Greg McCann, Helen McCann, Mike McCann, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Betty Odom, Lonnie Odom, Pam Pullman, Hattie Roberts, Mona Runions, Russell Runions, Roy Sharp, Joe Ship, Vickie Skelton, Nell Skelton, Jim Walker, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Please pray for these in your daily prayers that they might be better and for any others that need prayers. D.” Arthur Dee Cunningham, Debbie Buchanan, and Barbara Jennette Eglington. Prayers for all these families and any others about which we may not know.

It will not be long till October Heritage Festival will be here and there will be lots of yard sales especially on Highway 20 and through town and sometimes the yard sales most of the way to Summertown. Hopefully you will be able to visit some of those along the way. There will also be many things going on throughout the town including singing, craft booths and other booths set up to visit. So many things going on that you are bound to find some that you enjoy. The school children will also have a break during that week which I know they will enjoy.

The Lewis County Historical Society will be having a meeting on October 3rd, with a program on David Crockett. It will be at the Strand Theater at 6 pm in the evening please make plans to attend and if you would like to be a member you can pay your dues of ten dollars on that night.

Prayers that you and your family will have a great week and be filled with happiness and good health. Remember those who are less fortunate and can’t get out and if you can visit them or call or send a card.
