Come to Centerville, TN to Experience Live Music, Banana Pudding Samples, National Cook-Off Contest, and more
On October 1-2 at the Hickman County Ag Pavilion & Fairground (979 Grinders Switch Road, Centerville, TN 37033), attendees of the National Banana Pudding Festival will get the opportunity to walk our Puddin’ Path, where they can sample 9 different banana pudding recipes–from classic banana pudding to banana pudding with fixin’s such as oreos, caramel, cream cheese, s’mores and more!
Saturday is the main event with the National Banana Pudding Cook-Off where contestants from across the country compete for the title of “The Nation’s Best Banana Pudding Recipe.” Nearly $3,000 in cash prizes are up for grabs. Last year’s champion, Elaine Barbee, will be back to compete. Her Screwball Banana Pudding with Peanut Butter Hard Sauce swayed the judges and earned her $2,000.
Live Music & Kids’ Entertainment
Supported by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, music is a staple of the festival. Award-winning country rock musician Travis Tidwell is the headlining act in a series of live entertainment on Saturday. Rock and folk cover bands Band Angelica and Junction Drive will perform throughout the day as well as Roger Day and The Muletown Stompers.
Gospel and southern rock band, The Keepers, will perform on Sunday as well as the children’s act known as Runaway Puppet Theatre, Marcia Alexander & Friends and blues band, Chicago Charlie and the Businessmen.
This is a family-friendly event with tons of activities for kids including a bouncy house, games and balloon artist.
Food & Vendors
Lastly, the festival features all of your favorite fair foods like kettle corn, corn dogs and funnel cakes. The Tennessee Cobbler Company will be at the festival this year serving their famous banana puddin’ shake. Plus, you can shop from several of our artisan vendors who will be selling handmade soaps, clothes, crafts and more.
