William "Neal" O'Neal Isbell

January 14, 1948 - October 8, 2022

Neal Isbell, of Hohenwald, passed from this life on October 8, 2022, at the age of 74. Neal was born in Columbia, on January 14, 1948, to Olon W. and Elaine (Holloway) Isbell. He married Virginia Lou Hensley on March 27, 1968, and they were married for 54 years at the time of his passing.

Neal served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a project engineer for Stauffer Chemical Plant until his retirement in 2004. He was an avid musician and played many instruments. He also loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. His favorite times were spent with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Along with his wife, Virginia Isbell of Hohenwald, he is survived by his children, Rusty (Cortni) Isbell of Hohenwald, and Kim Wilson of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Jerzie Isbell, Hunter Burlison, Taylor Paige Burlison, Ella Wilson, Tide Wilson, Drew Wilson, and Kelly Wilson, all of Hohenwald; great-grandchildren, Landon, Gunner, and Charley Attkisson, Bendi Staggs, and Knoxlee Burlison; sibling, Donna (Steve) Servett; sister-in-law, Ruby Isbell; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents and his brother, Jerry Isbell, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 12, in the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. Larry Hensley officiated. Burial followed in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
