Mable Lois Cameron

October 15, 1932 - October 9, 2022

Mable Lois Cameron, of Hohenwald, passed away peacefully, early Sunday morning, October 9, six days shy of her 90th birthday. She was born October 15, 1932, in Collinwood to the late William Henry Berry & Elsie Catherine Horton Berry.

After marrying her late husband, John Alton Cameron, she moved to Hohenwald, where she has lived for the last 70 years. Being the mother of five children, she stayed at home to raise her children.

Being at home with her children allowed her to have numerous hobbies in the house. She was a wonderful cook and baker, making the best fried chicken and cakes. Her home was always open and welcomed many people for supper. She was also an excellent seamstress, making many smocked dresses and even making her daughter-in-law Barbara Cameron's wedding dress. She had an uncanny talent for playing instruments that allowed her to play by ear and the ability to pick up any instrument and play it.

If you ever visited Mrs. Cameron, you would find her television had only 2 channels, The Atlanta Braves, and the Hallmark channel. She was a very devoted Braves fan and watched them at every opportunity.

She loved her family dearly and every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild felt the love she shared and how special she made each one feel, everyone felt just as special as the other.

Mrs. Cameron is survived by sons, Darrell (Wanda) Cameron, Rick Cameron, and Jeff (Barbara) Cameron; daughters, Joy (Butch) Brown and Gina (Pineapple) Barber; sister, Wylodean Fite; sister-in-law, Iva Jean Berry; six grandchildren, Darrin (Lacey) Cameron, Abby (Steven) Ruddle, Catie (Jeremy) Stewart, Brett (Laiklyne) Cameron, Elliott (Chassie) Barber & Chelsey Spitzer; 11 great-grandchildren, Braiden, Jackson, Ashlyn, Harlyn, McCully, Davis, Hadlie, Jax, Haze, Noah, Layla, Ella & Knox; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Elsie Berry; spouse, John Cameron; grandsons, Wesley Brown and John Darrell Cameron; brothers, Jab Berry, Bonnie Berry & James Berry; and sisters Roxie Berry, Ada Strickland & Ann Holt.
