Pedestrian struck in crosswalk

First responders were called about 8:00 a.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a moving vehicle Monday morning, December 12, at the intersection of Park and Main.

Katie Shadix, 19, of Five Points, was traveling north on South Park and approaching Main Street, when she struck Diane Ladner in the crosswalk, tossing her across the street several yards. Ladner suffered severe injuries and was transferred by ground ambulance to Maury Regional Medical Center and later sent onto Vanderbilt Hospital.
