One Day at a Time

Well it is a very cold morning here in our little valley, the temperature this morning is 8 degrees and there is snow on the ground, we had about an inch of snow and some ice and it has not warmed up enough to melt it.

The cats did not get up as early as they usually do. Last night I put extra blankets over them and I covered up their heads and bodies. I even put their blankets on the old wood heating stove and got them warm, they sure like them warmed up blankets.

It is hard to believe Christmas is has come and gone. We sure had a good one and we had our new great grand baby, that was the best present we could have got. All of our kids were here for Christmas Eve and back for Christmas day, our house was a busy place. We will be eating leftovers for a while, and we had lots of desserts. I put our scales away, no weighing for a while.

Bob has not had to wash as many dishes because he has had a lot of help while the kids have been here. Put he is now back on dish washing duty full time.

The old wood heating stove has really been doing its job, the house has been nice and warm, even in this 0 degrees weather. But our wood pile on the back porch sure has gotten smaller, and the forecast is calling for some more snow “maybe”, but also for warmer weather later in the week. I think we are all ready for that. But winter time is just beginning.

We will be taking Christmas decorations down and put them back in storage for another year. We have got a lot of cleaning to do and then I will be ready to start my new quilt, maybe I will start more than one, I know I will be cutting out one or two, then when that next cold winters blast comes I will be sitting by the old wood heating stove and enjoying what I love to do.

It is cold now but before long we all will start thinking about getting out and working in the yards and in the gardens and canning and we will be complaining about the hot and dry weather.

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and enjoyed every minute of it like we did, and are now ready to start doing other things, and see what God has for us today.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless.
