Q.) How old were you when you started dating?
A.) Delana was 16, Chris was 17.
Q.) How long did you date before you got married?
A.) Delana: We dated 16 months, Chris graduated in May 1989. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and we got married in June.
Q.) When is your wedding anniversary?
A.) June 8, 1990
Q.) What do you remember about your first date?
A.) Chris: I can tell you that my mouth was wired shut because I had a car wreck, so Delana ordered everything. I also remember telling her I would take her anywhere and she chose Pizza Hut. This was February 13, 1989. The next day was of course Valentine's Day and I sent her roses.
Q.) What is your idea of the perfect date?
A.) Delana: To me the best date night for us would be a nice dinner, then a nice long ride out in the country. Just hanging out talking, enjoying each others' company.
Q.) What do you feel your greatest weakness is?
A.) They both said finding time to spend with each other because we are both so busy, but we do make it work.
Q.) What do you feel your greatest strength is?
A.) They both said that keeping Christ in the center of our marriage. Chris also said it should be in the center of any relationship, marriage or otherwise.
Q.) Can you both give our readers a little advice on how to keep their marriage strong?
A.) Chris said number one is putting God first! Delana said communication is second. They both said making time for each other is a priority.
Q.) Delana, would you say that Chris is your best friend?
A.) Absolutely yes he is, of course I couldn't do life without him. He is my safe place!
Q.) Can you tell our readers something they can do as a couple to strengthen their marrige?
A.) Chris: As we have said before, you need time together alone. But to me the most important thing is for the husband to date his wife. And always put God first!
Q.) Is there anything you would like to share with our readers that my questions may not have touched on?
A.) Delana: Your marriage should be your soft and safe place to land. You need to learn each others love language. You also have to remember: communication is key. Chris: Always keep Christ first in your marriage because without him you're not gonna make it. "Where one alone may be overcome, two together can resist. A three-ply cord is not easily broke." Ecclesiastes 4:12
