Well it is a cool and rainy morning here in our little valley, the old wood heating stove is going and doing its job, the house is nice and warm.

The weather forecasters say we may have some sunshine by the middle of the week but also we may see some snow flurries by the end of the week, it still is wintertime.

The cats were really hungry this morning and they were ready for some warm milk. They are back in their beds now.

Bob has got the breakfast dishes done and the kitchen spotless. He made me a second cup of coffee, don’t you all think that is sweet.

Starting off this new year we have had some busy days. I have been cleaning up Bobs office and I have cleaned out some closets, I am try to get an early start on spring cleaning, I have still got a lot more to do but that is a start. Oh yes I have also cut out two quilts, I do not know when I will start sewing them. I am taking one day at a time and at the end of the day I can see what I have got accomplished.

For dinner today we are having a big pot of pinto beans and a big pan of cornbread and maybe a meatloaf. During the wintertime I like to cook early in the day and then I can sit it on top of the old wood heating stove and keep it warm. I was thinking, I wonder of anyone has a wood heating stove anymore, they sure are messy with the ashes and dust and they take a little work, but I think it is the best type of heat. Everyday Bobby fills the stove up with firewood and takes the ashes out and before dark he fills up a inside wood box with firewood.

We have been having a lot of rain lately and the creek has water running in it. Maybe the drought that the weather forecasters have been talking about is over and this spring people will be able to raise good gardens.

I am looking forward to springtime and warmer weather, but I still love wintertime.

I heard the neighbors old John Deere tractor and saw the old farm truck down by the creek, the neighbor and the boys were hauling hay from next to the creek up to the barn because the cows were waiting, it was feeding time.

Thank all of you for the cards and calls and the encouraging words about my little story each week. It is just the ramblings of an old woman that enjoys life.

I have got a busy day ahead and I have got to get it started. I am going to enjoy this day.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless
