Faith and Fashions Ribbon Cutting

"Although this is my first store, I have been looking for the perfect space for months, and for years, I have been praying about a Christian book store." Bonnie James, owner of Faith and Fashions, began the event with those words. Like anyone who begins a new venture, it starts with an idea. After ruminating on that idea, you start coming up with ways to make it better, creating a dream. That dream, paired with hard work and dedication, can be made into a reality. And that's exactly what Bonnie and her husband, Brent, have done.

Mrs. James moved back to Tennessee from New York in 2022, and on the first day of March in 2023, she cut the ribbon on her first brick and mortar location at Twenty One North Park. "I started out doing jewelry two years ago," Mrs. James said, "and that went really well, so we then added Christian shirts. It took off, and I knew I had to find a place in the community."

That Christian theme is not just for show for Bonnie. "My grandmother took me to church until she got alzhiemers when I was about four or five years old. But in that sweet but short time, she instilled in me a faith that led me to continue on my spiritual journey, even when the rest of my family did not follow."

Not only passion, but research also has gone into the opening of Faith & Fashions. "I googled, asked around and hunted as I traveled, but I have not found a Christian book store within a 50 mile radius. It was and Is a need in my own life, and I considered others may as well."

Faith & Fashions is a faith-based boutique created in an effort to reach the lost and share the gospel with others. The store, located next door to regionally famous Hank's Diner, offers faith-based clothing, purses, $5 accessories, and bibles, journals, and devotionals for everyone. You can catch the James' at Faith & Fashions singing to praise music Wednesday through Saturday at 21 North Park Street, Hohenwald.
