Well it is a beautiful but chilly morning here in our little valley. The sky is blue and the sunshine is warm, but it is still a little too cool to sit out on the porch.
The cats were up and ready for their breakfast, when the sun is shining they get up early but when it is cloudy they like to stay in their beds under the cover. Smart cats.
Bob has got the kitchen clean, the dishes washed and put away. Now if I could just get him to sweep and mop the kitchen floor.
For our area of the country this has been a sad week, a lot of bad things happened. All that went on in Nashville and all the damaging storms. But you know God still has it all under control and there still is a light at the end of the tunnel, sometimes we have look harder to see it, but He is still there.
We may not be able to do anything about what happens, but we can pray, and we all can pray more often. Have you ever noticed that when bad things happen that people draw closer and pray more and show more love towards each other.
The bad storm has passed and the sun is shining. Spring is here and the flowers are blooming and the trees are coming out and the yards are getting green and soon will need mowing. There is outside work that needs done, this year I may even get my porches painted. I think wintertime may finally be over and it seemed to have gone out like a roaring lion.
Bobby worked a little on getting the old wood heating stove cleaned out and he got the remaining old dry firewood off the back porch, every spring he gets everything cleaned up so that it will be ready to be used again next wintertime.
Over the wintertime some of my bushes that normally stay green looked like they had died during the winter, but we have been seeing some green sprouts coming out on them, so maybe they are going to make it. The ivy that was down by the creek all turned brown, and there is some green coming out on it. We have also noticed even some of the evergreen trees like cedars and pines turned brown during the winter, this has been an unusual year.
Now that wintertime has passed I think we are all looking forward to a better year. We are trying to get outside and start walking a little, we walked a little on warm days during the winter but now that it is warming up we will be able to get out and enjoy it.
I have got a lot of empty canning jars that we opened over the winter that I need to fill back up, it sure was good to have those canned vegetables and soups to open when it was cold outside. We have to think and prepare for tomorrow, when times are good we need to prepare for when times are bad.
I got some quilting done and some crocheting done. I had planned on going to the Blooming Arts Craft Show in Linden, but I was not able to go because I got sick and because of the storm that weekend. But there will be other shows and I will be ready for them.
This morning I was outside and I was feeding the cats and I looked across the yard and there were two little squirrels playfully running up and down a tree, then I looked and saw the neighbor’s cows grazing peacefully out in their pasture and then I looked and saw some birds out in the yard and they were eating and happily singing, and I thought God is still in control and life still goes on and then I said a little prayer and you know I felt better.
I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
God bless
